Important Details (Please Read)

Domains are controlled by an internaitonal body known as ICAAN. ICAAN maintains the integrity of the domain name system. Therefor, when domains are registered ICAAN likes to make sure your purchase is legitimate. You will receive an email to whichever email is registered to your domain at the time. The registrar will ask you to certify the details you used for the registration. Failure to respond to this email will result in your domain being confiscated. Please be on the lookup regarding emails from ICAAN or your domain registrar.

There are fraudulent businesses that pose as domain registrars. They typically send you physical mail claiming that you must register your domain with them. The cost is typically $200-$300. This IS NOT a legitimate body or ICAAN. These businesses are online business directories (similar to YellowPages) misleading people into paying for memberships.

You should only make purchase involving your domain with your registrar (in this case ZebraHost). If you have any questions or believe a request is ilegitimate, the team at ZebraHost are happy to help. Forward to us any requests involving your domain and we can tell you if they are legitimate.

Finally, social engineering and phishing scams are more prevalent than ever. Your domain is one of the most prized assets your business owns. Falling for a social engineering or phishing scam can result in criminals gaining access to your domain. Should this happen, criminals will be able to impersonate your business and perform scams like redirecting your users to fraudulent site pages. ZebraHost works hard to secure your domain but you must remain alert for any strange requests involving your domain or ZebraHost account.
