ConfigServer Firewall (CSF) allows you to manually add an IP addresses to the allow list in your server’s firewall via a GUI in the WHM web portal.
It is a good idea to allow IP addresses on your server as it will help prevent you getting blocked from your server.
To obtain your local WAN IP address, navigate to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and copy the number at the top of your page.
- First you will need to log in to Web Host Manager (WHM) generally https://<server>:2087 with your root credentials
- Once logged in, click on
Plugins
followed byConfigServer Security & Firewall
. - Next, scroll down to the
csf - Quick Actions
. Here you will see a number of different options for managing IP addresses. - Look for the
Quick Allow
option (it should be a green box). - All you need to do is type in your IP copied , then click on the
Quick Allow
button. It is also a good idea to write a comment, such as “Server Administrator” or “Website Owner”, for the IP so you can remember what it was added for.
