Adding your ip to the allow list in ConfigServer Firewall (CSF)

By: ZebraHost

ConfigServer Firewall (CSF) allows you to manually add an IP addresses to the allow list in your server’s firewall via a GUI in the WHM web portal.

It is a good idea to allow IP addresses on your server as it will help prevent you getting blocked from your server.

To obtain your local WAN IP address, navigate to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and copy the number at the top of your page.
  • First you will need to log in to Web Host Manager (WHM) generally https://<server>:2087 with your root credentials
  • Once logged in, click on Plugins followed by ConfigServer Security & Firewall.
  • Next, scroll down to the csf - Quick Actions. Here you will see a number of different options for managing IP addresses.
  • Look for the Quick Allow option (it should be a green box).
  • All you need to do is type in your IP copied , then click on the Quick Allow button. It is also a good idea to write a comment, such as “Server Administrator” or “Website Owner”, for the IP so you can remember what it was added for.
Congratulations, you have successfully added an IP Address to the server’s allow list in ConfigServer Firewall.
