Balanced Public Cloud

A public cloud is a cloud that is located off-premises and purchased through a cloud services provider (like ZebraHost). The cloud provider owns and maintains the hardware and rents space to clients at an ongoing rate that can be month-to-month, year-to-year, or by usage (utility). These public clouds typically have multiple users in the same tenancy but split user data by maintaining it in separate virtual machines.

A private cloud is a term that can either imply on-premises infrastructure that is owned and maintained by the same business that uses it, or a cloud rented through a cloud provider that has single tenancy. On-premises private clouds are popular for businesses that must maintain on-premises infrastructure to meet regulatory standards.

Regarding off-premises private clouds rented through a cloud provider, what makes them private is that the cloud will be single tenancy typically provided through a virtual private server or a dedicated server. These servers have a single tenant and allow the user to configure specs, install an operating system, and make changes as if it were their own hardware.

Yes. Your data is installed on its own virtual machine keeping your data private from other users. Individual user machines are only accessible by authorized support staff when providing support.

Note: although private and secure, your account is not given its own tenancy. You will not be able to create and destroy virtual machines at will. Instead, we will provide you with machines per your requirements.

Although our Balanced Public Clouds are plenty secure, if you are uncomftorable with shared hosting or require more privacy, you can always upgrade to one of our private cloud plans. Private clouds will provide you with your own seperate tenancy and vLAN meaning all data is transferred seperate from other users.

Yes. If you need to move your data from one hardware rack to another or to another data center entirely, contact our customer service team so we can coordinate the move with you. We will make sure your data is moved in a timely manner, with little to no disruption to your frontend.

Our data centers are HIPAA, PCI, and HITRUST certified. In addition, they are protected with biometric security scanners, single person access, and monitored 24/7.
